Alloy 718 is a precipitation hardening nickel-chromium alloy with significant amounts of iron, niobium and molybdenum together with smaller amounts of aluminum and titanium. The alloy combines corrosion resistance and high strength with excellent weldability. After welding, there is minimal risk of cracking. Alloy 718 is resistant to creep at temperatures up to 700 degrees Celsius.
