Alloy 601 is een nikkel-chroom-ijzer-legering. Deze legering wordt vaak toegepast wanneer weerstand tegen corrosie en warmte nodig is. Een opvallend kenmerk van Alloy 601 is de weerstand tegen oxidatie bij hoge temperaturen. De legering heeft ook een goede weerstand tegen corrosie in water, heeft hoge mechanische sterktes en wordt gemakkelijk gevormd, gefreesd en gelast. Het materiaal wordt veel gebruikt in de proces industrie, heaters, uitlaatsystemen en verbrandingsmotoren.
