RVS 310S is een hittebestendig roestvast staal. Het is één van de meest gebruikte soorten hittebestendig roestvrij staal. De hoge gehaltes chroom en nikkel zorgen voor weerstand tegen oxidatie bij hoge temperaturen. Dit materiaal heeft goede sterkte-eigenschappen bij hoge temperaturen en is daarom bijzonder geschikt wanneer er goede mechanische eigenschappen worden vereist bij hoge temperaturen. Het biedt tevens een uitstekende chemische weerstand bij temperaturen tot 1100°C. Dit materiaal wordt veel toegepast in de petrochemische industrie en in de oven- en fornuizenbouw.
