Austenitic stainless steel. This type of stainless steel is widely used due to the combination of a number of extremely favourable properties. After heat treatment, the material offers good formability (bending, deep-drawing, spinning, etc.) This grade of steel is extremely resistant to corrosion in numerous oxidising environments. Due to the toughness, poor heat conduction properties and high degree of hardening, the material is only moderately machinable. This grade offers good weldability, depending on the thickness and welding process used. Typical applications include: household appliances, machines in the dairy and food industry, sinks and kitchen counter tops. This grade is often dual-certified as 304L/1.4307
