Product description

This is a martensitic stainless steel without molybdenum, nitrogen and vanadium, and is characterised by its good hardenability combined with reasonably good corrosion resistance in mildly corrosive environments. Its higher carbon content makes it harder than 1.4031. It is used in the tempered state and, due to its high hardness, is ideal for the production of cutting tools and the production of roller bearings, scissors and knives. Due to the high carbon content, 1.4034 is not suitable for welding. If welding cannot be avoided, preheat to 350°C-400°C, and the post-treatment temperature is approximately 650°C.
