This engineering steel is available as a normalised rolled steel. Normalised rolling results in a reduced oxide layer (mill scale) and even greater notch toughness. This engineering steel is reasonably machinable in both grades, reasonably formable and offers good weldability. It lends itself well to thermal galvanising, resulting in a smooth and shiny zinc coating.
