Challenges faced by the industry

The medical sector sets high standards. The materials used must meet high standards of precision and quality. Machining biocompatible materials used for implants and dental and snap-on prostheses is a major challenge for the machining industry. Obviously, knowing how materials are affected by expected and potential toxicological and immune system responses, physiological environments and clinical events, is also critically important.

MCB Specials

MCB Specials started as a supplier of non-ferrous materials in 1936. We are part of the MCB Group and have expanded our range of products and services over the years to become a total supplier. We offer an extensive choice of products to various industries and collaborate with logistics partners in a finely meshed distribution network. At MCB Specials, we offer the medical industry both materials and technical advice. Thanks to our global collaboration with partners and factories, we always find a solution, even when confronted by challenging grades and shapes.

Special machining operations

Our customers specialise in high-quality machining processes. We generally supply pre-processed materials to eliminate costly steps in the process. We can carry out a number of operations to your specifications, such as sawing, laser cutting and waterjet cutting based on dxf files.

Extremely cost-efficient

Our services have been set up to keep our customers’ procurement costs as low as possible. For example, we offer long-term call-off contracts. An EDI link is a further possibility, leading to major savings in the entire internal value chain.

Materials

Our range includes the most common materials for implants and the entire medical industry: stainless steel, cobalt-chromium alloy, titanium and nickel-titanium alloy (nitinol) and other metals such as gold, platinum, silver, iridium, tantalum and tungsten. Our materials meet the relevant requirements and certifications, such as ASTM F136, ASMT F67 and ISO-5832.
