Power & Energy

Challenges faced by the industry

In conventional energy generation, the main focus lies on increasing power plant efficiencies. However, the market faces a further major challenge. How are we going to heat homes and generate energy without fossil fuels? New technologies and developments are reaching the market at an increasingly rapid pace. Solar panels are now commonplace, and revolutionary technologies, such as using hydrogen to heat companies and homes, are also emerging. However, strict requirements for systems and materials are increasingly needed for all these new technologies. For example, requirements relating to protection, conductivity, thermal performance and corrosion resistance.

MCB Specials

MCB Specials started as a supplier of non-ferrous materials in 1936. We are part of the MCB Group and have expanded our range of products and services over the years to become a total supplier. At MCB Specials, we offer the market an extensive choice of very light and at the same time strong, homogeneous and easily workable materials for the power & energy industry.

Short supply chain

We focus on consistent quality assurance and supply chain optimisation. Because we can deliver materials sawn or cut according to a drawing, we eliminate unnecessary steps in the process. Thanks to our extensive experience in this area, we can offer customers highly flexible supply arrangements.

Extremely cost-efficient

A short time-to-market is only possible if the parties involved work together closely. That is exactly what we do with our global partners and factories. We always find a solution at MCB Specials, even when confronted by challenging material grades and shapes. An EDI link is a further possibility, leading to major savings in the entire value chain.

Materials

Our materials are certified according to API, ASTM, ASME, EN, ISO, TÜV, NACE and NORSOK. We offer alloys capable of withstanding challenging and aggressive conditions that require good resistance to general pitting and stress corrosion, oxidation resistance at high and low temperatures, resistance to seawater, carbon dioxide and hydrogen sulphide corrosion, without losing their strength.
